Always organized alternately by district associations of different towns, the rescue swimming competition for young people of the water rescue district association of upper and middle franconia is now organized by the district water rescue association of kulmbach. In three different age groups (8-10, 11-13 and 14-16), six participants per team compete in various disciplines.

In the citizens’ petition of the burgerbadverein, on the other hand, they are asked whether they are in favor of the renovation of the baths. According to wolfgang blumlein, 1009 signatures have now been collected for the citizens’ petition. Some lists are still on the way and will be delivered later. About 650 valid signatures are needed, he said. On monday, 22. July the city council decides whether the citizens’ petition is valid.

"I assume that the citizens’ petition will go through. Who carries then the indoor swimming pool?" Wolfram graeber wanted to know. Currently, there is an extreme shortage of trained lifeguards "the city could not get anyone, even if they wanted to", replied wolfgang blumlein. Already therefore honorary helpers are necessary, which presses the personnel costs enormously.

Hard-working helpers are still packing the last welcome bags. On friday they are already in the hands of the 250 or so participants. It is one of the last rough preparatory actions before one of the high points in the history of the coburg business juniors finally begins.

Looking back, the past two weeks in particular have been exhausting. "We all work a 40-hour week and do it on a voluntary basis", says conference leader cindy schaschek. During the preparation, highs and lows alternated. Now the preparations with the last detailed planning are about to be finalized. Schaschek and district spokeswoman inga hertling are therefore all the more pleased that this time is over and the event is finally about to take place. "We are proud to host the conference in coburg", the ladies agree.

Schaschek, hertling and 30 helpers are expecting around 250 participants for a three-day delegates’ conference starting on friday. This is the second state conference to be held in coburg after 1995. At the same time, the coburg business juniors celebrate their 45th anniversary with a gala evening.
