Hard-working helpers are still packing the last welcome bags. On friday they are already in the hands of the 250 or so participants. It is one of the last rough preparatory actions before one of the high points in the history of the coburg business juniors finally begins.
Looking back, the past two weeks in particular have been exhausting. "We all work a 40-hour week and do it on a voluntary basis", says conference leader cindy schaschek. During the preparation, highs and lows alternated. Now the preparations with the last detailed planning are about to be finalized. Schaschek and district spokeswoman inga hertling are therefore all the more pleased that this time is over and the event is finally about to take place. "We are proud to host the conference in coburg", the ladies agree.
Schaschek, hertling and 30 helpers are expecting around 250 participants for a three-day delegates’ conference starting on friday. This is the second state conference to be held in coburg after 1995. At the same time, the coburg business juniors celebrate their 45th anniversary with a gala evening.
New executive board is elected
The reason for the conference is the election of the new state executive committee, which is elected by the district spokespersons. The election will take place on saturday at the vienna house hotel at the brose traffic circle. But in addition to the formal part, there is also a varied supporting program. Lectures, company visits, workshops on the subject of business management, as well as guided tours of the city and the gala evening will make for an entertaining weekend, as schaschek reveals. Especially the city tours were quickly filled up. "We wanted to present the business location coburg well", the conference leader emphasizes. "After all, such an event has great charisma for a small circle like ours."
Rosenheim native inga hertling sees the weekend as a great opportunity for coburg. "Before I came here, I didn’t know what was on offer here", says the district spokeswoman. "But coburg is already like that and we want to show that to the whole of bavaria." Another side effect is to make the junior economists better known in coburg. "Like every association, we also have difficulties in getting members", tells hertling. "The conference is a good opportunity to draw attention to oneself."
History and modernity in the motto
We have been looking for the right motto for a long time. In the end, schaschek and her colleagues opted for the word game "itz royal. The royal connection to coburg is close at hand and is reflected in the cityscape. "The motto stands on the one hand for a historically royal cityscape, on the other hand for innovation, technology and future", explains schaschek. And with the river itz the local proximity can be represented in a playful way.
On saturday evening the junior economists celebrate their gala evening in the congress center. In addition to the 250 participants, about 150 members, supporters and sponsors are invited to attend. Especially the exchange among each other is important at such events. Networking is the keyword. "Everyone ticks the same", woman schaschek. Accordingly, there were always plenty of topics to talk about.
